Haunted are excited to announce the release of their third EP, "The Marcid Sky That Glistens...", a three track release conceptually inspired by the polarity of life + death perceived in nature during early spring. The firstborn heating months, enrobed in pastel, are so fragile in their return to a still freezing Earth, as nature is cruelly reanimated into a poison-dusted city - a seemingly hopeless metamorphoses from death into life leaving one to wonder if the natural world would rather stay bound to its grey eversleep than be so heartlessly, cyclically resurrected.
Tracklisting:
I. Nest
II. Eyes Sewn Upon Her
III. ...And The Skies Were Washed With Lilac And Rose
For those who seek a slightly more in-depth look at the EP, here are the spring-flushed inspirations behind each track:
Nest is a soothingly dark take of home, riddled with claustrophobia and seething hatred. Doused in feelings of entrapment and the longing to be anywhere but here, Nest encapsulates the jagged, stabbing branches that circle one endlessly, like a crown of thorns laced with crippling monotony. The wanting to fly into a crumbling, tainted world so not to be mangled by one's own comfort..
Eyes Sewn Upon Her was inspired by the brief sight of a river through a murky train window; a river carving through the colourless towering tombs of London, whose fleeting vision seems almost a mirage amid the concrete thorns butchering the city. To gaze upon the river glistening beneath the pale March sun and momentarily be swept to an Earth devoid of humans, in equilibrium with nature rather than with stone.. Watching the fragile winter trees blossom relentlessly back to life in a city whose nights are tarnished yellow and whose venomous air is choking.
...And The Skies Were Washed With Lilac And Rose echoes the twilight serenades of a cloud-washed sunset, the pearlescent swansong of the sky as she fades into darkness; the delicate hues of the early spring sky, illuminated for the first time since the dense winter clouds beset.
As all of Haunted's work,
"The Marcid Sky That Glistens..." meanders between the many wavering strands of black metal; threading droplets of depressive and atmospheric influences into an authentically eclectic and haunting style; starlessly breathless as hope is tangled with hopelessness and beauty is shredded into sadness.

After this release I will spend a week soaking in that post-birth feeling before continuing work on Haunted's fourth release which is currently due in July; a longer, melancholically cold and suffocating collection of tracks to cancel out the searing heatwaves that will soon be unleashed upon the planet. More details of Haunted 4 will fall soon... till then, I hope you tired beings enjoy the short cacaphonies of
